Six Models Excel

At the forefront of this success are six models, each achieving all-time high sales. These models have played a pivotal role in driving the brand’s growth, showcasing the diverse appeal of Kia’s lineup. The SUV and utility segment, a cornerstone of Kia’s offerings, saw a robust 16 percent growth in sales, representing a staggering 72 percent of the total sales volume. Additionally, Kia’s commitment to sustainable mobility is evident in the 41 percent growth in sales of its electrified lineup, a clear indication of the shifting consumer preference towards eco-friendly vehicles.

Seungkyu (Sean) Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, expressed his enthusiasm for the brand’s trajectory. “Kia is clearly a brand on the move. Our rugged SUVs and innovative EVs are our greatest strength, and demand across the Kia lineup reached all-time highs in 2023,” Yoon remarked. He further highlighted the brand’s ambitious plans for 2024, which include the introduction of six all-new and significantly redesigned products.

Drilling down into specific models, the Carnival, Niro, Seltos, Sportage, Telluride, and Forte all set annual sales records, contributing significantly to Kia’s overall performance. The electrified models, including the much-acclaimed EV9, saw a notable increase in sales, reflecting the growing consumer interest in electric vehicles. The SUV segment, led by models like the Telluride and the Sportage, underscored Kia’s strength in this category.

The year 2023 was not just about sales figures for Kia. It was a year of recognition and awards, with models like the Kia Telluride winning in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards and the Kia Sportage receiving the IIHS 2023 Top Safety Pick+ rating. The Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy awards for the EV6, Telluride, and Soul models further emphasize the brand’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
