The 2025 Lexus LX 700h marks a significant milestone as the brand’s first hybrid in the LX lineup. As part of Lexus’ ongoing efforts to expand its electrified portfolio, the LX 700h joins a roster of 12 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicles.

Unique to this model, the hybrid system includes both an alternator and a starter, a departure from Lexus’ other hybrids. This dual-function system enables independent engine ignition if the hybrid system becomes inoperable and powers the auxiliary 12V battery.

Performance: Power Meets Efficiency

The LX 700h retains the twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine found in the LX 600 but pairs it with a nickel-metal hydride battery. Together, this hybrid system delivers 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, offering robust performance for both urban driving and off-road exploration. An EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 20 mpg ensures improved efficiency compared to non-hybrid counterparts.

Acceleration is smooth and consistent, thanks to the 10-speed automatic transmission. The system’s responsiveness ensures the LX 700h is as capable on highways as it is on rugged trails.

Off-Road Capability: Advanced Systems for Tough Terrain

An integrated waterproof AC inverter provides an external power supply of up to 2400W, catering to adventurers who need power on the go.

Overtrail Grade: Versatility and Capability

The Overtrail grade sets the LX 700h apart with a choice of two- or three-row configurations. Designed for families and adventurers, it offers expanded passenger and cargo space while maintaining the model’s luxurious DNA. Its 8,000-pound towing capacity further broadens its utility, making it an ideal option for hauling trailers or campers.

The Overtrail also introduces enhancements like locking differentials and specialized suspension, ensuring stability and control over difficult terrain.
