Honda Prologue Improvements for 2025

One year after its debut, the Honda Prologue EV returns with some subtle upgrades. This handsome electric utility vehicle took the market by surprise in 2024, by delivering a strong impression for the brand’s first all-electric model. For 2025, the Prologue gains more power and a longer range and does so without a price increase. Read on and we will explore the changes that keep this EV a strong contender in an emerging segment.

Subtle Changes

In my review of the 2024 Honda Prologue, I appreciated its blend of practicality, comfort, and electric capability—while pointing out areas where Honda might push things further. With the 2025 update, Honda seems to have listened. The Prologue does not get a major update, because it does not need one. Instead, it receives smart, focused changes that improve range, power, and everyday usability.

More Range, More Power

One of the biggest upgrades for 2025 is found under the skin: an improved front power unit.

  • The EPA-estimated range now tops out at 308 miles —a 12-mile improvement over the 2024 model. Moreover, AWD models also benefit as the EX and Touring AWD now reach 294 miles (up 13), while the Elite AWD offers 283 miles (up 10).
  • Single-motor 2WD models now make 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque (+8 hp, +7 pound-feet). Dual-motor AWD versions jump to 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque (+12 hp, +25 lb.-ft.).
  • That added punch should be noticeable in everyday driving, especially in passing and merging situations. No one will mistake the Prologue for a performance EV, but the numbers should satisfy most consumers.

No Price Hike

Even with the mechanical upgrades, Honda holds the line on pricing. The 2025 Prologue starts at the same MSRP as before:

  • EX Single Motor (2WD): $47,400
  • After federal tax credit: $39,900
  • Destination charge: $1,450

This means Honda retains one of the more accessible price points in the midsize EV SUV segment—especially considering the generous standard feature list.

Standard Equipment Still Impresses

As with last year’s model, equipment levels remain a strong suit:

  • 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Google built-in
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Heated front seats
  • HondaSensing™ driver assistance suite
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • SiriusXM radio

There’s no need to step up to a higher trim just to get the essential, which is something I highlighted as a strength in the 2024 model that thankfully remains the same.

Smarter Charging Support

On the charging front, convenience takes another step forward for 2025. All Prologue buyers can choose from three home and public charging packages, which are included in the vehicle price:

  • Option A: Home Level 2 charger + $500 installation credit
  • Option B: Portable Level 1/2 kit + $250 install credit + $300 EVgo credit
  • Option C: $750 EVgo credit for public charging (no home hardware)

Each package also includes 60 kWh of charging from Electrify America, and all models support DC fast charging up to 150 kW, delivering around 65 miles of range in 10 minutes.

By 2030, Honda aims to connect drivers with 100,000+ DC fast-charging points, including access to Tesla Superchargers and major networks like EVgo and Electrify America. That long-view commitment is worth noting.

Final Take: 2025 Honda Prologue Electric Vehicle

Honda built on the Prologue’s initial success by refining the EV in ways that matter most. For those who wanted a bit more power from the 2024 model and did not immediately jump in, the 2025s make the wait worth it.

On the other hand, if you are considering leasing, the deals on the 2024s are outstanding, at least as of this writing. Inventories are thin for the 2024s, but if you work with your dealer, you should find the model and trim that you want and at a surprisingly reasonable cost.
