The Ford Motor Company launched on June 16, 1903, in Detroit, Michigan. Founded by Henry Ford, the company made an early reputation for itself by building the Model T. That model introduced modern manufacturing techniques and is widely credited with making the automobile affordable for millions of Americans.
Besides the Model T, the company has produced several models of renown through the years, including the Ford V8, the F-Series pickup truck, Thunderbird personal luxury coupe, and the Mustang pony car. Various other models have sported the Ford emblem, ranging from the lowly Pinto to the world-class GT. In more recent years, the company has gone on to build electric vehicles, including the Mustang Mach-E crossover the F-150 Lightning pickup truck.
