Big Hemi Powers Final Edition Chrysler 300C

The Chrysler 300C is going away, a traditional full-size sedan that’s taking its final bow for 2023. The sedan line, initially introduced in 1955 and resurrected decades later, fades away as the Chrysler marque prepares to shift to full electric vehicles. Just 2,000 copies will be built for American consumers, with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine powering each one.

Chrysler 300C Fades to Glory

The 300C’s demise is hardly a surprise. Indeed, the basic structure has remained the same for its 19-year model run, an uncommonly long time to stay with the same vehicle. That said, in 2011 the 300C benefitted from a substantial update, but we hesitate to recognize it as a new-generation model. Over the course of its long run, various styling changes and engine choices were accomplished. But the overall design is based largely on the Ralph Giles masterpiece that won praise from industry critics and consumers alike.

What We Can Expect

The 300C is going out in style with just one grade offered. This means the V6 is gone as is the 5.7-liter V8 option. A 6.4-liter V8 paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission will motivate all 2023 models. Power routes to the rear wheels.

One grade, one price

With one grade offered, Chrysler elected to load that model and price it accordingly: $55,000, plus the destination charge. Certainly, the options list is quite thin.

Unique front and rear fascias

For 2023, the 300C gains a new grille and rear decklid. On the grille is a special tri-color 300C badge that sits to the left (red, white, and blue). A similar tri-color badge is affixed to the rear decklid.

As for the exterior paint schemes, velvet red, bright white, and gloss black are the colors utilized. No other choices are offered.

Stylish interior

All models feature Black Laguna leather front bucket seats with 300C logo embossing and silver stitching accents. Real carbon fiber trim pieces are also present. The 300C remains a five-passenger model with a three-place bench seat in the rear.

Upgraded tech and safety

Under Fiat Chrysler, the Chrysler brand languished. It also lost its premium status (similar to Buick) as it was remade into a mainstream brand. This change occurred as the brand received new models (200 sedan and Voyager minivan). But both models were retired, leaving only the 300C and Pacifica minivan to represent Chrysler.

For 2023, the 300C captures some of its lost luster as the sedan comes well equipped. Besides the expected comfort and convenience features, this model has a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. On the safety front, full speed collision warning, lane departure warning, and advanced brake assist are just some of the driver-assist technologies supplied.

Performance grade

Chrysler fans not only get a big V8 engine, but one that produces 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. This engine is naturally aspirated as no turbocharger or supercharger is present to give it boost.

The engine is not only large, but it supplies generous amounts of power to move this sedan. Chrysler says that a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds is possible, while the quarter-mile gets covered in just 12.4 seconds.

Other performance features include a limited-slip rear differential, red four-piston Brembo brakes, an active damping suspension, active exhaust system, and black rounded exhaust tips.

Place Your Order

Not everyone has $55,000 to spare, but if you do and the 300C captures your attention, then go for it.

Chrysler made the ordering process easy as it is accomplished completely online. First, customers are encouraged to build their model. Second, they’ll choose a dealer for delivery. Third, an online deposit secures the vehicle. Follow this reservation link to learn more.

Remember, just 2,000 Americans (plus 200 Canadians) will have the chance of purchasing a final year 300C. Finally, will you be counted among them?
