Cadillac Announces Lyriq EV Pricing and Range

The Lyriq is Cadillac’s first EV

Cadillac’s first all-electric model, the 2023 Lyriq crossover, arrives this summer. Just ahead of the order books opening on May 19, the luxury marque announced vehicle pricing and an EPA-estimated range.

Cadillac prices the Lyriq from $62,990 for rear-wheel drive and $64,990 with all-wheel drive. Additionally, the driving range for the standard model comes in at 312 miles. We don’t have the range for the all-wheel-drive version yet, however.

Upgrading to all-wheel drive adds power and towing capacity. While the standard model delivers 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, it is not rated to tow. On the other hand, adding a drive unit to the front wheels boosts performance to 500 horsepower and includes a 3,500-pound towing capacity. `We believe most customers will opt for the upgrade although a modest drop-off in range will accompany it.

Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition

This summer, the Lyriq Debut Edition arrives and is priced from $59,990. The Lyriq RWD follows in the fall, while the Lyriq AWD is expected after the first of the year.

Besides pricing and range, Cadillac announced that owners will have a choice in accepting two years of no-cost public charging or the installation of a Level 2 charging port at their home. In any case, Level 2 charging is fast with up to 52 miles of range added hourly. Hook this utility vehicle to a DC fast charging unit and owners will find up to 76 miles added in as few as 10 minutes. Thus, customers well within their range of traveling to their destination could find a quick charge to help them get back on the road.

“This unique offer will elevate our customers’ experience with the LYRIQ, helping them make a smoother, more transparent transition to all-electric driving,” said Global Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey. “Like the LYRIQ itself, the charging experience will set the standard for customers’ EV experiences.”

Upping the Range

Rolling out the Lyriq begins a transition to a full-electric Cadillac fleet by 2030. The 300+ mile range goal was reached thanks to GM’s Ultium battery system.

“These are important steps for Cadillac, as we make good on our promise to deliver an EV offering more than 300 miles of range and move toward an all-electric portfolio by 2030,” said Harvey. “Cadillac will define the future of luxury transportation through its range of forthcoming EVs, and it all begins with LYRIQ.”

GM Electric Vehicles

The Ultium architecture will support all Cadillac, Buick, GMC, and Chevrolet EVs and is also shared with a pair of Honda models. The first model based on the platform is the GMC Hummer EV. Cadillac should see a second EV within two years. Specifically, the Celestiq, a sedan, may follow.

Other GM EV models planned include an all-electric Corvette. Chevrolet will also see electric versions of its Equinox and Blazer crossovers as well as its Silverado pickup truck. The GMC Sierra pickup truck will also yield a full-electric model.
