kid-driving

It’s an age-old debate (no pun intended). Which driver are safer, teens or seniors? Which age group is the most dangerous overall? We have all the facts and figures here.

Every once in a while we hear a story about a senior citizen who forgot which way was up, or thought he was stepping on the brakes but stepped on the gas, or spaced out in some way and plowed through a bus-stop full of kids or something like that. Most vehicle owners are aware of the visible risks in driving. It’s easy to see how reckless driving, distractions and intoxication can lead to a deadly accident. While a vehicle manufacturer can control the actions and practices that take place in their own facility, it may not be possible to control the actions of some suppliers. If you are looking for a new car, you are probably considering how you are going to get the money to pay for it. You could save up and pay cash for a new car, but most likely, you are going to end up having to get a loan. When obtaining financing for your car, you should make sure to avoid a few key mistakes.

Your monthly payment is not going to equal the price of the car after interest and other fees are tacked on. Continue reading »

My first car was a 1967 Oldsmobile F-85. I paid $140 for it. It ran great too. It was a nasty green, just like the one in this blurry picture here. It had a three-speed on the column, or, as we used to call it- three on the tree.

It was so rusty, and had no carpet, so I was embarrassed of it, even though I was proud. So I did what any respectable teenager would do- I put some hot pink carpet in it (that was all I could find) and painted it primer black, right over the rust. Continue reading »
